The New Attic Bathroom - Part 1

Enough stuff is happening that it's time break this up into separate threads.

When I got home tonight, this is what I found.

Compare and contrast this floor with the old floor in the attic bathroom.  Much nicer, I'd say.

The new bathroom is in the same location, but the new one is ever so slightly larger and the layout is also going to be slightly different.  The old layout was was perfectly functional for the servants, but it was a little wonky.  The only lights in the room were attached to the medicine cabinet which was on the left wall behind the door.  It made shaving quite an adventure when we were doing the kid's bath.

Rather than being an in-swinging door, the new one will be a pocket door - pocket on the right edge of the picture.  The door is one that was re-purposed from elsewhere in the house.

The floor tile is a variation on a traditional hex pattern.  The shower wall tile is a traditional subway tile with a decorative strip at eye level.  The niche will get tiled as well.

We're also intending to re-install the attic bath's toilet and use the pedestal sink that used to be in the master bath.
